If You Don't Do It, You Don't Really Believe It

A thousand words will not leave so lasting an impression as one deed. Action is the natural fruit of direction. Follow good intentions with appropriate action. "If ye know these things, happy are ye if you do them" (John 13:17) Prayer should never be an excuse for inaction. Sometimes, I believe the

Lord speaks to us like He spoke to Moses when He said, "Quit praying and get the people moving! Forward match!" (Exod. 14:15) If you don't take action, you don't really believe it. Most prayers are only going to be answered when you attach action to them. Decide in advance to act on the answers to your prayers.

Some people spend their whole life searching for what's right, but they can't seem to find any time to practice it.

"Remember, too that knowing what is right to do and then not doing it is sin (James 4:17). Your story is not written with a pen but with your actions. To do nothing is the way to be nothing.

There is no idleness without a thousand troubles.

Welsh proverb

The devil's number 1 hope is not an active sinner but an inactive Christian. "The devil tempts some, but an idle man tempts the devil" (English proverb). Be sure to keep busy doing what's right so the devil may always find you occupied.

Action subdues fear. When we challenge our fears, we master then. When we wrestle with our problems, they lose their grip on us. When we dare to confront the things that scare us, we open the door to our liberty.

Momentum doesn't just happen. "The common conception is that motivation leads to action, but the reverse is true---action precedes motivation" (Robert Mckain). "Don't wait to be motivated. Take the bull by the horns until you have him screaming for mercy" (Michael Cadena).

Laziness is a load. Nothing is more exhausting than searching for easy ways to make a living. Expectation is the idle man's income. Laziness keeps on and on, but soon enough it arrives at poverty. We are weakest when we try to get something for nothing, "Hard work brings prosperity; playing around brings poverty" (Prov. 28:19)

A person of words and not of deeds is like a flower bed full of weeds. Don't let weeds grow around your dreams. To only dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are. Some people dream of great accomplishments, while others stay awake and do them. Henry Ford commented "You can't build a reputation on what you're going to do." "Shun idleness. It is a rust that attaches itself to the most brilliant of metals" (Voltaire).
